Our youngest loves to read. He seems to love the high action, big challenge stories with humorous antics mixed in.
I thought it was time for a good biography.
I didn’t mention it to him. I discussed it with his father. The idea of reading a book about a person who is tried and true as a positive, benevolent leader of other folks – or a mentor. Someone’s story that will help lift us to new understandings in life.
My mom had me read Frederick Douglas’ biography for a book report. As a child and young adult I also read biographical works of Helen Keller, Anne Frank, Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Maya Angelou, Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt, Georgia O’Keefe, among others.
Our newly renovated library opened this past week. (It is beautiful!) Sam headed over to do homework yesterday and came home with two new books. Lo and behold, one of them a biography! Do I have my finger on the pulse or what?!
